Stage 17: Tour De France

Probably the hardest cycling I have ever done. And hope I never have to do worse. A tale sign is that I ended my garmin ride ride after reaching col de la loze, conveniently forgetting there was a 5k downhill before the actual last climb. It is the hardest stage of the tour this year and we all agreed that TDF organizers look for new ways to kill cyclists. The elevation is insane and the downhills are pure madness but the views once again are to die for.

Overall, I am glad I have somehow found my legs in the alps. I felt light in my feet except for the last climb. We stopped for a bit before climbing and I think that impacted my flow. Regardless, whenever I watch cycling races on tv, commentators speak of good legs and finding your legs. I pretty much never understood what it meant until now. I compare my legs in the Pyrenees and the Alps - it’s night and day. Before i jinx it any further especially with a painful calf, let me stop there as we have two hill stages and one mountain stage before Paris. Adios!!
