Stage 20: Tour De France

I can’t believe we made it to the 20th stage. It’s been one heck of a journey. We had this stage circled. It was short but packed a punch.

When I looked at the profile, I thought I would need to plan out my effort. I wanted to empty the tank since the 21st is pretty much a celebration.

We had 3 category 2 climbs, 1 category 3 and 2 category 1. It was anything but boring. I took it easy on the first climbs and climbed the last category 1s with Camille Toulemonde who always keeps a good temp on climbs. I was delighted to be able to keep up. Generally I felt good and light on my bike - which is a blessing on the last day of climbing.

As usual we finished with a mini parade and cheered for having pretty much finished all the tour stages. As I write we are driving to Paris for the 21st stage. The 5 hour drive isn’t fun but look forward to finishing it all tomorrow.
